Pupil shortlisted for Sky Sport Awards: Student of the Year

Hollybrook Academy is thrilled to inform everyone that our very own S6 pupil, Fraser Armstrong, has been shortlisted for this year’s Sky Sports Living for Sport Awards: Student of the Year.

Sky Sports Living for Sport ‘part of Sky Academy’ hosts its prestigious annual Awards to celebrate the way in which pupils, teachers and schools are using the programme to boost confidence, change behaviours, increase attainment and develop life skills. The Awards (now in their fifth year) provide Sky sports with the opportunity to showcase the exceptional work and stories of success happening in schools from all across the UK and Ireland.

The immediate next steps are that Sky Sports through their Saturday morning children’s TV show ‘Game Changers’ will visit Hollybrook to film Fraser and capture the impact that Sky Sports Living for Sport has had on him.

On the day of filming a small Sky crew will visit the school along with an Athlete Mentor. The filming that takes place in our school will be showcased on Sky Sports News during the week leading up to the awards show (week commencing Monday 23rd March), the ‘Game Changers’ live show on Saturday 28th March and an exclusive SSLFS Awards TV show to be aired on Sunday 29th March.

As a shortlisted ‘Student of the Year,’ Fraser will also have the fantastic opportunity to attend Sky Studios in Osterley for the live filming of ‘Game Changers’ on Saturday 28th March followed by a ceremony where Sky sports will officially announce the overall UK and Ireland ‘Student of the Year’ winner! This will be then followed by a fantastic Sky experience including a visit to the Sky Academy Skills Studio.

Good luck Fraser
